Rescue Diver Course 

The PADI Rescue Diver Course is an important and crucial step in expanding a diver's knowledge and experience beyond a purely recreational level.  The Rescue Diver Course is a pre-requisite for all PADI leadership training courses such as Divemaster, Assistant Instructor and Open Water Scuba Instructor.

This program teaches you to focus not only on yourself, but on other divers.  The course shows you how to recognize and prevent a diving accident before it occurs, and how to respond if one does.  Although the subject matter is serious, the course is both intensely rewarding and enjoyable!

The PADI Rescue Diver Course is designed to develop the knowledge and skills necessary for an individual to effectively perform diver rescues and assists, manage diving accident situations and render proper first aid to divers.  Knowing these skills builds diver confidence by increasing the comfort level in handling any problems in the water.
 
 

Course Structure

The PADI Rescue Diver Course consists of 2-3 classroom sessions, 2 pool sessions and one weekend of open water training.  Participants will practice 10 different skill training exercises and 4 open water training applications.
 

Pre-requisites: 

You can enroll in the Rescue Diver Course as a certified Open Water Diver and participate in the Rescue Diver knowledge development and rescue training sessions, in confined water only, while working on your Advanced Open Water Diver certification.

To participate in the rescue training sessions in open water, and to participate in the open water rescue scenarios, you must be certified as a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver or have a qualifying certification from another training organization.

Minimum age: 15 years old (12 for PADI Junior Rescue Diver)

Proof of 20 logged Dives.

Successful completion of a sanctioned CPR program within the past 24 months. The Emergency First Response Primary Care (CPR) and Secondary Care (First Aid) courses meet these requirements
